This Privacy Policy explains how Takenote collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use the service.

We aim to handle personal information responsibly and transparently and to collect only information that is reasonably necessary to operate Takenote.

Depending on how you use Takenote, we may process the following types of information.

Account Information

• email address;
• username; and
• authentication information necessary to maintain your account.

Your password is handled by the authentication system and is not intended to be stored by Takenote as readable text.

Wall Information

When you create a wall, we may process:

• wall name;
• username;
• selected wall theme; and
• other wall settings necessary to operate the service.

Takenote Content

When someone submits a note, Takenote may store:

• text content;
• drawing content;
• note type;
• note color or style;
• creation date and time; and
• other information necessary to display and manage the note.

We use information collected through Takenote as reasonably necessary to:

• create and authenticate accounts;
• create and display walls;
• display whispers;
• store drawings;
• allow wall owners to manage their whispers;
• maintain and improve the service;
• protect the service from abuse and security threats; and
• comply with applicable legal obligations.

Takenote walls are designed to be publicly accessible.

Information displayed on a public wall may therefore be viewed by visitors, including:

• wall name;
• username;
• whispers posted on the wall; and
• drawings posted on the wall.

Do not post personal, confidential, or sensitive information on a public wall if you do not want other people to see it.

Notes are displayed as anonymous within the Takenote interface.

This means the visitor's account identity is not displayed alongside the note.

However, Takenote does not represent that a submission is technically untraceable. Information necessary for authentication, security, infrastructure operation, or legal compliance may exist separately where applicable.

Drawing whispers are stored as image files so that they can be displayed on walls.

Takenote uses its configured storage infrastructure to store these files.

When a drawing note is deleted, its associated storage file may also be deleted.

Takenote may use third-party services and infrastructure necessary to operate the application, including services for:

• authentication;
• database storage;
• file storage; and
• application hosting and infrastructure.

For the current implementation of Takenote, Supabase is used as part of the application's backend infrastructure.

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain account functionality, comply with applicable obligations, resolve disputes, and protect the service.

When information is no longer reasonably necessary for these purposes, it may be deleted or otherwise handled in accordance with applicable requirements.

Takenote uses reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

However, no internet-based service can guarantee absolute security.

Subject to applicable law and relevant conditions, you may have rights concerning your personal information, including rights relating to:

• being informed about the processing of your information;
• accessing personal information;
• requesting correction of inaccurate information;
• objecting to certain processing;
• withdrawing consent where consent is the applicable legal basis; and
• requesting deletion or blocking where applicable.

Takenote is not intended to be used in violation of applicable age-related laws or requirements.

If you believe that a minor has provided personal information inappropriately, please contact us using the information below.

We may update this Privacy Policy when Takenote's features, data processing practices, or applicable requirements change.

The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised “Last Updated” date.
